Lamia Alami is a Swiss-Moroccan award winning writer, director and producer with 20 years of experience across independent film, documentary, commercials and branded storytelling. Born to a Swiss mother and Moroccan father, her multicultural background has shaped a body of work drawn to identity, human experience and the stories that emerge between cultures.

Lamia holds an MFA in Writing and Directing from NYU Tisch School of the Arts Graduate Film program. Her narrative short films and documentary work have received awards and screened at festivals including the LA Film Festival, SeriesFest and the Nashville Film Festival.

Alongside her own films, Lamia works internationally as a director, producer, cinematographer and editor. Her clients include BBC StoryWorks, United Nations Human Rights, CNN’s Great Big Story, Bloomberg, Euronews, Brut., Pepsi and other international brands and institutions. Her work has taken her from commercial productions to documentary field assignments and human-centered storytelling for global organizations.

Alongside her filmmaking practice, Lamia develops projects connecting film, storytelling, art and social participation in Switzerland.
